About
My love of art really emerged in high school.
My favorite classes to this day include basic art, crafts, and ceramics classes. When I was a senior, I remember spending most days staying late in the ceramics room because I simply couldn't get enough. I'm talking until like 6 or 7 at night--it was the best kind of problematic.
After graduating high school, I headed off to the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management. While working towards my degree, I worked as a pastry chef in a downtown Reno restaurant. It was my opinion that since I no longer had access to a ceramics studio, making art out of food would satisfy my need to be a maker. Baker = Maker, right?!
After I left my bakery job, I started working in sales and customer service for an apparel printing company. At about the same time, I bought an iPad, and discovered just how many things I was able to make with it. So I plunged in, and I have continued to build my skills to be able to offer many different products to my clients.
I am a jack of all trades, and I have forever struggled with picking just one thing to do with my time.
Today, I make art including:
- Murals
- Digital Art--portraits, invitations, cartoon drawings, branded logos
- Hand-Built & Painted Wooden Signs
- Chalkboard Art
- Printed Items--art prints, greeting cards, stickers
To me, the common denominator between all the items above is painting. I love painting both digitally and with various paint types, and work daily to hone that skill.
Artfully Morgan Origins
My business name came from my love of sending & receiving snail mail. I love the idea of sending something in the mail that makes the recipient's eyes light up. The name Artfully Morgan was inspired by a letter sign off. Instead of "Sincerely, Morgan," I sign off as "Arftfully, Morgan."
