Signs, signs, signs!

When it comes to custom signs, the sky is the limit. The options for what can be done for a custom sign are virtually endless, and if you have an idea, I would LOVE to work with you to bring that idea to life.

I create signs for...

• Weddings
• Special events (other than weddings)
• The home -- Living room, bedroom, bathroom, nursery, you name it!
• I even create functional art that isn't necessarily a "sign." I have painted things like cribbage boards, vintage windows, wood slices, furniture, rocking horses, etc. 

How are they made?

In most cases, I make signs by hand & from scratch. I purchase raw wood or plywood from my local hardware store & I then prepare the wood to the specifications planned for the sign. This means that I am able to create custom sizes that will work for your space! In addition to this, I stain, wash, or paint the wood based on specific requests from my clients. You want a sign framed with a dark walnut stain and then white washed background? I can do that. You want an unframed solid pink painted sign? I can do that.

As for the art...

After I have prepared the physical sign canvas, I then add art to the sign by hand. In general, I use acrylic paint to create the designs on the signs. After I have painted these images by hand, I add a protective clear coating to the entire sign to protect the wood and also the artwork that I have created.

I consider lettering art & floral botanical art to be my specialties when it comes to hand-painted signs. I have painted other subjects such as cartoon animals, celestial themes, and landscapes, but they are highly stylized. Chalkboards

Hey, I get it. You have an event that you need a sign for, but you might not want to keep it forever. I can definitely create chalk art for you instead. I have some chalkboards that I can rent to you if you are in the Reno, NV area. I can also create art on a chalkboard that you purchase and provide to me as well.
